Dwight Shelton Meeks
Born: September 21, 1922
Died: January 14, 2014
Age: 91

He was born September 21, 1922 in Chidester, AR to Luther W. and Leona Rogers Meeks.
Mr. Meeks was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant, AR.
He was a Gideon and previously served as a deacon at Cullendale First Baptist
Church in Camden. In addition to being a Gideon, Mr. Meeks was a Mason and
Shriner since 1987.
In addition to previously owning Meeks Pest Control, he was the owner of
Top Products, Inc., where he manufactured and sold his invention,
“Storm Cushions.” He was a radio operator in the Army Air Corps during
World War II, serving the majority of his time in France and Belgium.
His hobbies were golf and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Doris G, Meeks;
A son, Mark Meeks;
Four brothers, Doyle Meeks, Dorman Meeks, Neil Meeks, and Rogers Meeks;
A sister, Geraldine Davis;
Grandson, John Shelton Meeks; and
Two great-grandchildren, Corbin Lammey and Bailey Meeks.

Mr. Meeks is survived by a son, Mike Meeks (Patricia) of Grand Prairie, TX;
Two daughters, Devona Wilson (Jimmy) of Benton, AR and Cindy Sims (Fred) of Royalton, IL;
10 grandchildren;
24 great-grandchildren; and
5 great-great-grandchildren;
A sister, Amanda Gray (Don) of Benton, AR;
A daughter-in-law, Kim Meeks; and
A host of nephews and nieces.

Dwight was a Long time member of the Ouachita Ramblin Sam’s,
A Chapter of the Arkansas Goodsams RV Group.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home with
Jimmy Burks, Greg Meeks, and Sean Hyman officiating
followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
