Died: March 10, 2017

OTTUMWA – Franklin Edgar Pilcher, 70, of Jonesboro, AR, formerly of
Ottumwa, died March 10, 2017 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen TX.

He was born November 17, 1946 in Ottumwa to Clifford E. and D. Delores
Christy Pilcher. He married Pamela Cantrell and they later divorced.
He married Maxine Thomas McDaniel on December 14, 1985.

Ed was a 1964 graduate of Ottumwa High School and was a veteran of the
U.S. Navy. He worked as a sheet metal worker in construction. Ed loved
stock car racing, doing woodworking and traveling in his RV.

Surviving is his wife, Maxine; children, Joe Allen Pilcher and
Bert (Sue) McDaniel Jr. both of Eldon, James Alvin McDaniel of Cedar
Rapids; two granddaughters, Olivia Pilcher and Katelyn McDaniel;
three sisters, Dolores Anne Drummond and Joan (Edward) Nydle both of
Ottumwa and Shirley (Mike) Hart of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Tracy Lynn
Pilcher; an infant son, Craig Dalton Pilcher and a brother, David Pilcher.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with
Pastor Mark Hornback officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery
with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775
Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to the family.


Though He's gone, He is not forgotten.
Though absent, He remains in spirit.
Though once a worker, He now rest.
