Born: February 7, 1935
Died: January 30, 2013

Jimmie Ray Hopson age 77 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, January 30, 2013,
at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 7, 1935, at Dover
to the late Elmer and Lucy Mae Johnson Hopson. He was a member of the
Dardanelle First Presbyterian Church. He loved traveling by motorhome, music,
playing his guitar, watching the Weather Channel, sleeping and snoring in his recliner
and, most of all, kissing his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents;
his brothers, Dewel and Arnie Hopson, and his first wife, Betty Ann Hopson.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Marie Hopson of Dardanelle;
sons and daughters-in-law, J and Becki Hopson of Lenoir City, TN,
James and Leanna Brown of Dardanelle, and Bobby and Liza Brown of Russellville;
daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Paul Surprenant of Frisco, TX, and
Robbi and Josh Withouse of Dardanelle;
grandchildren, Kathryn and Scott Hopson, Travis and Christopher Surprenant,
Alex, Faith and John Brown, Megan, Morgan, Madison and Jadyn Brown,
Samantha and Taylor Salters, and his beloved pet, Allie.

Visitation was Friday, February 1, 2013 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle.
Funeral services was Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Cornwell Chapel with
Rev. Kelly Pearson and Chaplain Tom Anderson officiating.
A private burial will be conducted at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville.

Pallbearers will be Travis Surprenant, Christopher Surprenant, Alex Brown,
John Brown, James Brown Jr., and Josh Withouse.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmie’s Good Sam family.
