Kay Tallent, 58, a resident of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in Franklin County, near Ozark.
She was born April 2, 1953, at Pocahontas to Curtis Chester and Hazel Marzell Rose Carmickle. She was the
former owner of Designing Tallent in Dardanelle and was currently an area coordinator with Plant Essentials
where she worked as a liaison with Lowe’s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dardanelle
and enjoyed painting, sewing, decorating, gardening and wedding coordinating. She was preceded in death by her
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Lillie Tallent.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kent Tallent of Dardanelle; two sons and their girlfriends, Brandon
Tallent and Tamala Youngblood, both of Fayetteville and Joshua Tallent and Noelle Butts, both of Dardanelle;
a daughter, Ashley Tallent of Dardanelle; her parents, Curt and Marzell Carmickle of Pocahontas; a brother and
sister-in-law, Jim and Linda Carmickle of Hillsboro, Missouri; a sister, Marion Bloom of Russellville; two
brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Keith and Alice Tallent of Dodge City, Kansas and Mark Tallent of Nashville, TN;
a sister-in-law, Charolette Tallent of Nashville, Tennessee; and her two pet Black Labs, Lucy and Jack.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Jim Benfer,
the Rev. Paul Seay, the Rev. Nelson Henderson and Mr. Ken Hamilton officiating. Burial will be private in
Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dee McCormick, Mark Thone, Brad Wear, Haskel Hicks, James Woods
and Dusty Bunting.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to:
