Age: 75

Dr. Richard Parker Armstrong of Mabelvale, AR., passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014,
at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was 75 years old.

Richard was born March 24, 1939, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He received his MD degree
from University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; he served in the Canadian
Army Medical Corps; He was currently Vice President of Medical Affairs for QualChoice,
Little Rock, AR. Richard was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians,
American Medical Association, American College of Physician Executives, and American
College of Utilization Review Physicians. His distinguished career included, President,
Chairman, and Vice President for several medical institutions; Medical Director for
Prudential Insurance and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Blue Cross Blue Shield,
spanning over 50 years’ service within the Medical Industry. In his spare time he enjoyed
woodworking, RVing, boating, fishing, and his beloved Toronto Blue Jays.

Dr. Richard Armstrong was President of the Rock City Sams, an Arkansas Good Sams RV Chapter

Dr. Armstrong is preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Annette (Parker) Armstrong
and his wife Rose Marie Armstrong.

He is survived by his fiancée Shirley Caldwell of Clarksville, Arkansas;
daughter, Cara Bourassa her husband, Jim, of Tucson, Arizona; daughter Valerie Carr her husband, Steve,
Town and Country, Missouri; daughter Claire Kampmann her husband, Thorsten,
of Vettweiss, Germany; his brother Charlie Armstrong, his brother Don Armstrong,
his wife, Claudette, all of Toronto, Canada;

and grandchildren, Jason Bourassa, Jack, Charlie, his wife, Ruby and Max Carr.

A memorial will be held 12 Noon-4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014 for
Dr. Richard Armstrong at his home, in Mabelvale, AR.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American lung association or
charity of choice in Richard’s memory.
