Born:  December 1, 1933

Died: December 2, 2018

 

Russell H. Stamps, 85, passed away on December 2, 2018. He was born on December 1, 1933

in Kennett, Missouri to the late Lon and Maude (Apperson) Stamps.

 

Russell loved God with all his heart and spent his life serving Him through church, and supported Missions.

 He was a very magnanimous man with a huge heart for those around him. He would visit

local nursing homes every Sunday and minister to the residents. He especially loved children

and would take them to church when their parents couldn’t make it.

 

He loved going to auctions and would purchase things to repair, like lawnmowers, and give them away

. He was a farmer at one point and raised pigs, one of which rode home from auction

 in the front seat. God and family were always top priority to him and he loved them with all his heart.

 

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 52 years, Faye Stamps;

his 8 siblings; and one son, Bill Mickna.

 

He is survived by his second wife of 11 years, Karen (Mickna) Stamps of Rogers;

sons, Tom Stamps (Debbie) of North Carolina, Tony Ward of Centerton, and John Ward of Arkansas;

daughters, Rhonda Farris of Rogers, Leslie Downs of California, RayAnn Hales (Jim) of Cave Springs,

and Kris Mickna of Rogers; brother, L.T. Stamps (Janice) of Missouri; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5 until 7 pm at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

 His funeral service will be at New Hope Assembly on Thursday at 11am with burial to follow at Rogers Cemetery.
